We had the activities marking the 1st year annivasary of Dad's transition over the weekend its amazing that its already a year since dad,s call to Glory. we thank God who has been with us and stregthened us The activities started at 10am in the house ADABOL villa in idanre with a thanksgiving service conducted by Rev Ojewale Pastor of 1st Baptist church Idanre. It was a time of thanksgiving and sober reflection. The house was alive again and it was as if dad was still around. Members of the extended family family attended it was a time of reunion again. I thank God that the family has remained one and united since Dad left us. We have tried to "keep the egg together" as you would have wanted. After the thanksgiving service we went to the burial site. Its looking so beautiful. we had placed an evergreen grass sent down by Bimbola my brother and family. unfortunately He couldnt attend. Bayo my other brother and his wife Ayo were with me supporting me all the way with Kunle Olawoye. We had a plaque that read " Granpa Prof Eniola Adeniyi, He cared, Loved & Shared. He touched many lives and made a difference. His memory is Ever Green in our hearts. Granpa taught us "There is enough to go round in this world if we care to share" Mum had put flowers round it and we had flower wreaths as well that read "GRANPA" like we had at the funeral. It was so peaceful and beautiful looking at It didnt look like a burial site more like a Memorial Arcade which was what we wanted as your memory will remain ever green in our hearts At 12noon we moved to the community centre at Alade Idanre for the award of scolarship by the Prof Eniola Adeniyi Empowerment Foundation (PEAEF) Dad had started while we us We are keeping this legacy alive. We had an Empowerment Lecture by Rev (Dr) Omomukuyo it was so inspiring, We then offered scolarships to students in the 17secondary schools in Idanre. It was so overwhelming as so many people turned up including the Oba of Alade, Chief Blessing Kayode, local Govt chairman, representative from the Governor's office, extended family members, your friends etc It was such a joy to see the love and goodwill extended to the family. The Board of Trustees of the Empowerment Foundation were all there as well It was a great reunion and successful ceremony On sunday 2nd oct we had a thanksgiving service at First Baptist Church Idanre. I was so blessed with the sermon and the way people turned up I could only say thank you Jesus. God has really been faithful to us as a family. The past one year since Dad's transition has been very eventful. it hasnot been easy walking in Dad's shoes but God has been granting me wisdom and favor. Gbenga, my husband has been a pillar of strength with Ore & Segun my children being there for me. I am just grateful to God for keeping all of us including the extended family united in love Looking forward to more of Gods love and favor in the coming months / years I miss my father more than l can express but the confidence is that he is with God in heaven Much Love Bunmi
