PROFESSOR ADENIYI: ADIEU If life were sustainable by intellectual prowess and sagacity, you would have needed no taste of death; your protégé would continue in your stead, my able professor! If philanthropy were the means to remain in this part of creation bodily, your milk of kindness that flowed to many would have forbidden your exit from mother earth; your beneficiaries shall keep the light of your love for humanity shining, my distinguished brother! If prayers were enough to keep you perpetually in this planet, death could not have snatched you away from your loved ones with such an audacious wickedness; your brethren in churches that benefited from your unsurpassable generosity shall continue to pray for your “better half” of over forty years and loving children O my dear mentor!! We sing a dirge in your memory today, my spiritual compatriot, as we recall your extensive care (in housing, cash and kind) to the church of Christ for so many years, within and beyond Alade - Idanre; to Christ Anointed Kingdom Church (CAKC) to be specific. As mortals we should have wished that you stayed with us a little longer, but God-the One who gives life-knows better; and He only has the final say. It is to this finality that we resign, knowing that, like a colossus, you had trod the rocky shoal of this side of living and are now ascended into glory; into the midst of super mega-stars, resting in the perfectly peaceable galactical bossom of our Lord Jesus Christ, to die no more. Your epitaph in our hearts is non-erasable: “Behold the man that came, saw, trod, accomplished feats, conquered and bequeathed worthy legacies on humanity beyond borders,” Adieu!
