Toluwa Adeniyi 14th October 2010

My earliest memories of Grandpa Adeniyi: I remember watching home videos of my naming ceremony with Grandpa Adeniyi carrying me in his arms, when I was just a few days old. Though I didn't know then, my Mum and Dad said Grandpa had surprised them by telling them that he was at Heathrow Airport! This was early in the morning, on the day of my Naming ceremony. And for that I'm very grateful. I also remember, when he showed us around his house in Bodija, Ibadan and in Idanre and we looked at all the various exotic plants that were growing in his compound. He gave us some of the Cocoa beans, Pineapples and banana, which we took back with us when we returned to our school (in England). I remember seeing photos of my sister and I sitting at Grandpa's desk in his office pretending to be working, or photos of him showing us his petrol stations. It was also nice, when Grandpa surprised us and gave us some Ice cream and Pizza during one of our visits to Nigeria. I have also enjoyed having him and Grandma around, and I especially like cooking breakfast for both of them during their stay. It’s quite nice when Grandpa takes time off work to visit with us. I enjoy some of the stories I was told about how he would give up his first class plane ticket to enable the family to visit or travel to Europe and other similar stories. I miss you Grandpa.
